This modest beach house underwent a rather substantial makeover. Whilst keeping the layout on the ground floor, all rooms underwent a total renovation. Extra floor area was added on the northern side for a new living room and main entrance. The first floor A-Frame was demolished and rebuilt as a mono pitch structure to create extra wall area for the two upstairs bedrooms and newly created bathroom. The existing single garage was re-clad to blend in the newly modernised home, and was extended to make a double garage. Roland Lüthi Design & Build Ltd, was responsible for the consent plans and build.

  • “We had drawn up floor plans and profiles for the alterations to our existing house and required an architectural draftsman to do the detail drawings. Roli Lüthi was recommended so we approached him to undertake the detailed design work. We were extremely satisfied with his professional approach to our home, and we were also impressed with what he had achieved with the alterations to his own classic old villa.
It was because of the latter that we asked Roli to undertake the alterations of our house.
At the end of the project we had developed an exceptionally good working relationship, and are very proud of the end result. If in the future we require a builder, I only hope that Roli will be available.
We would highly recommend Roli Lüthi to anyone requiring a competent and sensitive builder.”

  • “We engaged Roland Lüthi Design to initially fix the problems created by another builder. We were so impressed with the results we then engaged them again, to design and build a further 230 m2 add-on. We have found working with an integrated design build company where the designer/draftsperson is also the builder, has resulted in us achieving our outcome and vision. Furthermore, Roli’s attention to detail and pride in his work has resulted in us also achieving a project of the highest quality and finish.

Thank you Roli for your efforts and your vision."
